BIOGRAPHY

Northern Ireland international who came through the ranks at the club and made almost 200 first-team appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson.

After leaving to join West Brom in 2015, he enjoyed success with Leicester City, winning the Emirates FA Cup in 2021. Following his departure from the Foxes, he trained with the Reds and signed a short-term contract in order to feature in the pre-season for Erik ten Hag’s men. On 1 September, it was announced that Evans had agreed a one-year deal to stay with the Reds and, with injuries to key defenders affecting us throughout the season, he made 30 appearances in total during 2023/24. The crowning moment for the veteran centre-back doubtlessly came at Wembley in May, when he came on for Lisandro Martinez to help see out our FA Cup final victory over Manchester City. Evans then signed up for an 11th senior season at Old Trafford, putting pen to paper on another one-year contract in July.
